MMZ- Omega Clash by Hakuramen MMZ- Omega Clash by Hakuramen
The cataclysmic battle between Zero and Omega in MMZ3. I probably should have drawn Omega much larger.

Nevertheless, comments and critiques are very much appreciated. Enjoy.

INCREDIBLE! I feel like this part of the fight gets forgotten easily in favor of the zero vs his original body battle so I'm glad to see artwork like this exists. Great work!

Thanks! This was one of my most memorable moments in MMZ series so I wanted to capture the badassness of that form.

You did it pretty well! You even got Omega's Megaman-styled arm showing prominently! Much respect!

Looks great as-is! And it almost looks like Zero's smiling, like he's enjoying the fight. (coughcough:iconkenpachiplz:cough)

Thanks for the comment! I never did consider whether Zero actually enjoyed the fight or not, but it's an interesting point. Zero was after all corrected as a reploid of destruction, but given his recent role as an antihero burdened with guilt of his past, I doubt he finds much pride in his bloody work.

Nonetheless, he'll continue to lend his strength for those he believes in and do his duty-- with or without relish.

Nah you didn't need to draw him larger. It just looks like Zero is a little far away from him, that's all. It's gotta be the surroundings. Even if you drew Omega larger, it would still look like Zero's far away because of the scenery.

Hmm, perhaps. But looking back on this picture, there's certainly a lot that can be improved with my current skillset. Thanks!

that is really awesome and he doesn't have to be any bigger because if zero is in the air way above omega then you don't have to.

Absolutely amazing.
I really love how this looked, although if there was anything to be picky about, I think it's the line arount his chin. (although, he is technically a robot)
I really love this game ans I wish there was a way to fight the full size version.
A remake on a different platform would be nice, but for now this is the best of the Zero series.

Agreed. I definitely thought this battle was epic. They should make another MMZ series-- though I understand they did wrap it up; I at least want the MMZ/MMX styled game play starring Zero in some form.

Thanks for the comment and critique. I see what you mean there about the chin. I always found it somewhat awkward when drawing characters from a perspective underneath the chin. I'm not sure how to portray it properly and in Zero's case, I'm not sure whether the area underneath the chin is exposed or covered by his head-encasing helmet. Who knows?

Yeah.
Also, if MMX6 had not been released, the original X would've been the boss in the first game.
But some people decided to make MMX6 without the creator's approval.
The story could've lasted longer...(but then again, we might not have had Omega if that was the case)

I'm not familiar with MMX6's story but I do know Inafune intended to end it at X5 from where MMZ series then continues off-- after 100 year gap or so. What happened in X6 that might have affected MMZ?

Well, Zero was alive and rebuilt during an incident with a virus called Nightmare, which turns Reploids into Mavericks.
The game focuses more on Reploid rescue, but overall the game gets a mixed score of around 5-7

This is the greatest version of that battle ever drawn, even greater than the official Capcom sketches.

Hmm, I seem to recall that they actually wanted Omega to be really freaking fast and agile, but the 2d nature of the game force them to make him a big slow boss, and his Dark Elf was suppose to be even faster, again 2d screwed it, so this picture is more like the original concept then the actually game

I love the angle and perspective of this pic. It's pretty much the way I'd picture Zero having to face off against such a huge opponent. (Being a badass and flipping around of course. ;P )

Also, mad kudos on the detail to the background. Not enough people put forth the effort into fanart backgrounds to make em true to the game. ^^

Why does everyone draw Omega as a fusion of X and Zero? When I played MMZ3, I remember seeing nothing of the sort. There was silver Omega, gold Omega, and deep red Omega (ie model OX), but never did I see a hint of blue anywhere. Did I miss something?

Omega's 2nd form has shoulders similar to the design of both Zero's and X's helmets. The center head is Omega himself.

My God, that's good! I'm a huge MMZ fan, and that fight versus Omega was SWEET. I just hate his final form.

...ESPECIALLY in Megaman ZX. *HARD HARD HARD*.

But, hell yes, I love it! :D I do agree with you on Omega needing to be bigger, but it could be written off as perspective - that Zero's just waaaay far away from Omega, and very near the "camera"? That's how I'm taking it anyway :D

Aaah that was quite the boss fight-pretty tough too how you had to do Omega's two stages and then 'true' Zero all on one life bar

I think you did a wonderful job capturing the feel, and even better a job in portraying Omega, whose form is hard to fully grasp from what was on screen in game at this second stage

The slick colouring gives it a real dynamic sense of action and Zero's pose is very well pulled off

Excellent work :) you are ever getting better, and your work has always been pretty impressive to me
