Legacy of PSO by Hakuramen Legacy of PSO by Hakuramen
Colored linework: [link]

I've been in a drawing mood lately, and this is my latest entry.

PSO, I have not forgotten you! In fact, I've actually been playing PSO:BB with nostalgic memories in recent weeks, and in the meantime, I've been keeping updated on Sega's PSO2 development. Their releases of character concept art have proved immensely helpful in the creation of this drawing.

So here it is. PSO art in some time-- PSO2 no less. Classic character classes transition from their PSO1 designs to their PSO2 counterparts.

I'll most certainly be coloring this-- though the process will take some time. In the meantime, comments and critiques are very much appreciated!

Artwork belongs to me.
PSO2 belongs to Sega (please localize it here!)

Oh wow, that's really good. Are you going to color it?

A colored piece is actually in the works. May take some time though.

Aye, lots of detail in it. Traditional or digital?

Drawn traditionally, and will be colored digitally.

That's cool! What techniques do you use to set up the traditional work for coloring?

Sketch it out with pencil, ink it cleanly with various inking pens, erase pencil lines, and scan it up for digital cleaning and coloring.

That's cool. Do you use multiply to color? Or do you erase the white?

Multiply is far easier.

This is amazing line art! I like all those little scale-ish looking effects. Though I think the HUnewearls head is a tad too big, which kinda look a little odd to me.

The digital effects were inspired from a mix of Mega Man Zero art and the PSO2 opening-- when the HUmar leaps into the portal. When colored, I hope the effects of them transition from PSO1 to PSO2 will be more obvious.

As for the critique, that's something I'll take note of in future drawings. Thanks for the thoughtful comment!
